Results Pending and Completing a Tournament

Understand Results Pending, official finalization, external-results conclusion, and when a tournament becomes complete.

What Results Pending means

Results Pending is the normal post-play state while scoring, contests, and any payout work are still being completed. A tournament can reach Results Pending automatically from elapsed time, when score activity begins after the start, or when an administrator begins results processing.

The status does not by itself mean that official ClubForge results have been published. The Scoring stage shows whether scorecards are still being reviewed, whether official results are finalized, and whether another workflow stage remains.

Completion with ClubForge results

  1. Complete and approve all eligible scorecards or DNF outcomes.
  2. Review provisional standings and resolve tournament contests.
  3. Select Finalize Results to lock official ClubForge standings.
  4. If Prize Pool Administration is enabled, complete and finalize the payout workflow.

Without Prize Pool Administration, finalizing official results completes the tournament. With Prize Pool Administration enabled, the event remains Results Pending until Finalize Payouts is completed.

Completion when another system owns the results

If your club used ClubForge for registration and tournament administration but official scoring is being handled elsewhere, use Conclude Without ClubForge Results from the Scoring stage. ClubForge preserves the tournament's registration, assignments, teams, handicaps, reports, and administrative record, locks scoring, and marks the tournament Completed without publishing ClubForge official results.

A conclusion note is required so future administrators can see why ClubForge results were not finalized.

Corrections after completion

A completed tournament is protected from ordinary editing. When a legitimate scoring or payout correction is necessary, use the explicit reopen actions presented by ClubForge. Reopening an upstream result can also reopen dependent payout information so it can be recalculated consistently.
