Turn on Admin Tools
Tournament creation controls are shown only when administrative tools are enabled. If they are hidden, select Admin Tools in the ClubForge navigation to display the administration controls.
Create the tournament from the calendar
- Open Calendar.
- Find the date on which the tournament will be played.
- Click the gold + button on that calendar day.
- Complete the Create Tournament form and save the event.
ClubForge preloads organization defaults such as the usual start time, registration method, player limit, check-in window, prize-pool setting, standings selection, and other standard options. Review those defaults for the specific event before saving.
Define the tournament identity and schedule
Enter the tournament name, date, and start time, then select the golf course and default tee configuration. The course must be active and have a complete tee configuration before it can be selected.
Select the tournament format that ClubForge will use for scoring and results. The optional Calendar Format Label is the shorter member-facing label shown on the calendar. For an unsupported or externally scored event, select Other and describe the event structure as needed.
Choose how players will register
ClubForge supports two registration approaches:
Player-Selected Positions
Players choose an available starting position while registering. This is designed for shotgun-style signup sheets. The tournament setup includes a signup-sheet layout that determines which holes, tee groups, and positions are available.
Director-Assigned Positions
Players register for the event first. After registration closes, the tournament director assigns them to a shotgun start, tee times, or manually defined groups from Tournament Administration.
The registration method becomes locked after the tournament opens for registration.
Review standard tournament options
The tournament inherits your organization's standard settings. Enable Customize standard options only when this event needs an exception. Depending on the selected format, the options may include gross/net standings, Stableford settings, skins carryovers, Prize Pool Administration, player check-in timing, and approved tee selection.
Save before building the operational workflow
When the tournament is saved, ClubForge creates the event and captures the tournament's course context. Director-assigned tournaments are then managed through Tournament Administration, where assignments, handicaps, scoring, reports, flights, and prize-pool stages become available as appropriate.
