Post-Start Assignment Corrections

Use ClubForge's controlled correction workflow when a participant or assignment must change after play begins.

Use corrections only after normal assignment editing is closed

Once play has begun, ClubForge protects the assignment state because it may already be connected to handicap snapshots, scorecards, contests, flights, reports, and other tournament records. When a real-world change is unavoidable, use the explicit Begin Post-Start Assignment Correction workflow from Tournament Administration.

What the correction workflow can handle

The available actions depend on the tournament's registration and assignment configuration, but the controlled correction workflow can support operational changes such as moving a participant, filling an available position, manually registering an accepted member, substituting a participant, or removing a participant when permitted.

Record the reason

Post-start changes require a reason or correction note where the workflow requests one. This preserves an audit trail and makes it clear that the change was an authorized tournament-administration correction rather than an ordinary pre-start edit.

Keep the correction session narrow

  1. Begin the correction from the Assignments stage.
  2. Make only the required participant or assignment changes.
  3. Review the resulting roster, position, and tee information.
  4. Finish or cancel the correction workflow as appropriate before continuing with downstream tournament administration.
Why ClubForge uses a separate workflow.

Separating post-start corrections from ordinary assignment editing protects scoring and reporting integrity while still giving the tournament director a controlled way to handle real-world changes.
